Hand Cane

Hand cane can be identified by loops over the boarder and knots on the bottom of the chair. If there is no cane in the chair, there will be holes in the wood. Count the holes in the wood or loops to determine price

Press Caning

This is identified by no loops or knots in around the chair. If there is no cane there will be a groove around the edge of the chair which is filled by the spline that holds in the cane.

Rushing

Chair and seat  rushing uses paper or grass based material to weave a pattern that is strong and artistic.
Pricing
Hand Cane
$2.25 - $2.75 per hole depending on hole count or size of cane.
Machine/Press Cane
$.80 per square inch (calculate width times depth)
Specialty Press Cane including radio net and close weave
Additional Cost based on Material Costs
Rushing
$10.00 for each inch measuring the front width of chair plus cost of materials of $30-$50 for fiber. Natural materials will be additional.
Danish Cord/Mexican Weave
$10.00 for each inch measuring the front width of chair plus cost of materials of $40 per chair.
Gluing and Minor Repair
$35 and up for chairs getting other weaving and $50 and up per chair depending on type of repair.
Coloring of installed material
$35 and up per chair/panel depending on size and the type of material.
